Since 1976, Business Week has served tens of thousands of students. There have been some significant milestones along the way. For example, in 2000 the Business Week Program started serving kids right in high schools with the In School Program at Pasco High School. In 2001, Washington Business Week went international when 10 Business Week board members administered the program in Belarus. In 2003, the Advanced Program was launched. The Advance Program was modeled after Leadership Week, which started in 1979 by Dr. Jim Brooks and continued into the 1990’s. Like Leadership Week, the Advanced Program aims to give students who have already participated in Business Week the chance to come back for a more in-depth look at Business Planning.
In 2007, special pathway programs were introduced called Healthcare Week and Construction Week. In 2010, Manufacturing Week was added. Gdynia (Poland) Business Week was held in Poland for the first time in 2009 for 100 Polish students.
In 2015, more than 3,000 students will experience the magic of Business Week. The spirit of Business Week is as strong as ever. We anticipate the next 40 years will be as exciting as the first.
